How to tune your guitar with this tuner

  1. Press Start tuner and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
  2. Pluck one string and let it ring. The big letter shows the note the tuner hears.
  3. If the needle is left of centre, the string is flat: tighten it slightly. Right of centre means sharp: loosen it.
  4. When the needle stays in the green and the display says "In tune", move to the next string.

Tip: always tune up to the note. If you're sharp, go a little below and come back up. The string holds its pitch better that way.

FAQ

Does this work for ukulele, violin or singing?

The note display is chromatic, so it shows any note it hears. You can tune other instruments or check your singing pitch, but the string buttons are set up for guitar.

Is my audio recorded?

No. Sound is analysed in your browser in real time and never recorded or sent anywhere.
