🤥 Two Truths and a Lie
Rules, 60 ready-made ideas, and a practice game: can you spot the lie among real facts?
Spot the Lie 🔍
Two of these are true. One is a famous myth. Tap the lie!
How to play
- Each player thinks of three statements about themselves: two true, one false.
- They say all three, in any order, as convincingly as possible.
- Everyone else votes on which one is the lie.
- The player reveals the lie. Anyone who guessed right gets a point, and the player gets a point for each person they fooled.
It works for 3 to 30 people, in person or on a video call (use the chat or a quick poll for votes).
How to write a great set
- Use your weirdest true fact. "I've eaten a cricket" sounds like a lie, which is exactly why it works as a truth.
- Make the lie boring-believable. "I have a younger brother" is much harder to spot than "I met a celebrity".
- Match the detail. If your truths are short, keep your lie short. Extra detail is a giveaway.
- Mix the categories. One about childhood, one about skills, one about travel or food.
